Hong Kong Building (2007)

This time we came across a hole'ly and another square'ly building. The combination of the sheer height of the building and the aligned circled or square windows created a stunning visual effect of reaching for the sky.
The recessed space created in the squared window building creates a hollow that casts upon a shadow depending on the position of the sun (in the day) and moon (moonlight at night).
That's my own interpretation. =)

Hong Kong Buildings (2007)

Build with perfect symmetry. This building stood out because of its simplicity in design. Horizontal lines seperates the levels of the building and the vertical lines seperates the windows horizontally. Every window is identical with the four corners slightly curved. The vertical edges of the building are also rounded . Shots taken from across the street.

Hong Kong Buildings (2007)

Other than Hong Kong's spectacular night scenes, the city is also densly packed with beautiful buildings. This one here is a church from bottom up.

Hong Kong Shopping Interiors (2007)

The decorations you see in the shopping centre tell us it was during the CHRISTMAS season! Yeap. There are lots of shopping centres in Hong Kong and all of the are highly accessible via their very efficient MTR system. Singapore cannot beat that for the moment. Both in terms of shopping and the quality of the train services. Lots of room for us to improve still.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

My wife and I were on our way for seafood very late at night. This huge neon sign was up on the top of the restuarant bearing the shape of a fish. The sky was cloudy and there was minimum moonlight. Actually I don't remember seeing the moon. We did not end up eating in that restaurant. Nice sign though =)

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

I think I'm out of ideas on what to write for the rest of the photographs. I can only say I've got to put this up. =)

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

Another lively street. Brilliant colors.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

A light shop adjacent to the street. Very vibrant and brightly illuminated oriental lamps surely will capture the attention of any passer by. I took it a step further by capturing its beauty to share it with you.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

A close-up, I mean a nearer view, of the G.O.D shop. Nice point of displays with warm lightings. Taken with a taxi passing through with slooooooooooooow shutter speed. Can you see the car moving pass??? Cool heh??? =)

Hong Kong Night Scene

Walking along an above ground walkway with countless escalators were rows of buildings with neon lights displaying the shop names. An otherwise dark lane liven up with neon is common and that's one significant display that makes Hong Kong beautiful at night.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

It was late at night. Most shops were already closed. However this light shop though closed for the day had all the lights on. And that was a spectacular view from the other side of the road. A ray of golden glare staring at your eyes along a gloomy street you just can't miss that.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

Hong Kong is a city of light. Night time was never boring. There people virtually everywhere walking along the streets. This photograph was taken around 7pm. Needless to say, simply vibrant. Both the colors and tone as well as the hustle and bustle of the city.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

Some very old flats in Hong Kong. When I look up the buildings, the flash lights on the left brightens the otherwise dull part of the flats. Lightings in the homes looked like silvery rays decorating the facade in contrast to the dark buildings on the right hand side. So interesting. And there you have. Another night shot. =)

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

On our way to the design shop called Goods of Desire (G.O.D.), we were standing on a little island pavement in the middle of a cross road trying to figure out the right direction. Non-of the direction seemed to be heading the right way, so I looked up and saw the moon. And the rest of the story should explain itself.. At last we found G.O.D. the shop shop shown in my previous post.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

We were waiting for a bus near mid-night to go back to our hotel when I took this shot. The warm color of the streeth light cast on the road and the silver backdrop from the Louise Viutton shop has enough reason for me to whip out my camera. The moving bus is a plus to the entire composition.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

This photograph was taken off a linkway between erm... forgot. Oh man... how I loved night shots... Brightly colored buses on the left balanced by the plants on the right and well lit buildings at the backdrop makes the whole composition so rich yet so balanced.

Hong Kong Night Scene (2007)

My wife and I were walking from day to night to maximize our trip. We took a break from walking at a cafe and that was where I caught this shot. With very slow shutter speed I had to place my camera on the table. I love photographs at night because movements could be captured. Just beautiful.

THAT's ME (2009)

That's me. Self-taken. If my wife sees this online, I can imagine she'll shake her head and think to herself 'Silly guy and his silly poses'...

Zoo Snake (2008)

I love this shot. Not because I like snakes. But it was just... beautiful. It held itself tightly on a branch, within a few centimeters away from me, from the safety of a glass display tank. =)
Taken from the Singapore Zoological Gardens.

Zoo Snake (2008)

Taken from the Singapore Zoological Gardens. This snake was of course in the glass display tank.
What captured my attention was a FLY riding on the head of the snake.
Cheeky FLY!

Zoo Frog (2007)

My wife and I haven't been to the Singapore Zoological Gardens for a long time. This photograph of two frogs were taken behind a glass tank display.
When I looked at their relative unplanned positions, that made the perfect composure that cannot be missed. It looked like one SMILING at you, and the other (further away) about to come to greet you. Hehe...

Mauritius Toad (2006)

CAN YOU SPOT A TOAD in this Photograph?
Saw this toad camouflaged in fallen leaves and branches in the woods. In fact there were many toads. We just have to LOOK OUT for them within the leaves.

Snail (2008)

We had our church services in Kuo Chuan Secondary School till from 2007 till 2008 because our church building was undergoing upgrading and renovation. One fine Sunday morning, I saw this huge garden snail on a pebbled pavement.
So I decided to be polite and say 'Hi' to him at eye level.

Snails (2009)

Still along the long and winding road to Mount Faber Hill. Along the metal railings were lots of tiny black ants crawling back and forth. Rarely do you spot a snail!!! What is he doing there? It must have been a looooooooooooooooooooong way to get up there.

Blue Bug (2009)

We were walking from Hort Park to the Mount Faber Hill. Along the way were very exciting insects to spot. This bright blue bug caught my sight. GOTTA TAKE A SHOT OF THIS!!!
I love this shot.

House Fly (2008)

I don't know why I took shot of this housefly except that no one else would bother to.
That is what interests me. Oh I answered my own question.

Mauritius Botanical Garden Tree (2006)

This tree was spotted in the Botanical Garden in Mauritius. The sun and the sea in Mauritius was 'WOW'; earth and galaxies apart to Singapore's brown water coastline. However, the Botanical Garden in Mauritius was... something like the east coast beach of Singapore, i.e. dull.

HEY!!! But there was this NICE TREE!!!!

Plant @ Hort Part (2009)

Took this plant shot from Hort Park. The images shows calmness and tranquillity. I think.

Mauritius Coffee Break (2006)

That was me in the foreground sipping coffee and enjoying the panoramic view of the hill. Mauritius... simply beautiful.

Mauritius Looking Out (2006)

We were supposed to be looking for deers in the meadows. That was my wife holding on to a binoculous and using the powers of her eyes to spot deers from kilometers away.
Me? I looked up and saw a photo opportunity. I like this shot.

Mauritius Beach (2006)

Taken by the beach in Mauritius during our honeymoon in December 2006.
Spectacular beaches and sea views.
Can't find that in Singapore.

Pen Perspective (2008)

A pen viewed from a different perspective. Looks good.
This is one of the pens I used for sketching.

Carpet Perspective (2007)

Sometimes I do see cockroaches walking around. So, this must be what the cockroaches see when he climbs over the carpet. Taken in Black & White.
Watch out you roaches, I know where you are coming from...

Time Perspective (2007)

Photo shows a clock/calender. Taken in Black & White.

Work Station Perspective (2008)

This is where I work at home. I mean these are the stuffs I have on the table when I worked at home. I mean this are the stuffs which I used for work at home, from an angle which I don't normally take when I do my work. =p Taken in Black & White to present a nostalgic ambience.

Rabbit Scissors and Buddies (2007)

Peering from the base of my desk, I cannot help but have to take another shot. Another bottom up pespective showing a cheeky rabbit scissors and a penguine water container.
They looked like Club Bouncers.

TOY (2007)

I got this toy for free when I bought... erm.. cannot remember. =).
I placed it in front on the wall of my workstation. Looking diagonally upwards from where I was, it suggested to me a very nice angle with a unique perspective to be looking at a tiny toy. Posing in a 'looking out' position, I took this shot.

Rubber Duckies (2007)

This set of rubber duckies were toothbrush holders. Taken with a vibrant background it brought more live to the duckies.
VERY HAPPY DUCKIES.. Made my day just looking at them.

Cat Sleeping (2007)

We were looking for furnitures in Dempsy Hill. There was this sign in this shop that claims that they have a surveillance camera looking at you and a picture of a cat looking straight. I thought that notice was kind'of fun. Then as we toured around the shop, just outside was a cat dozing off soundly on a chair. It was the same cat on the notice.

Cat Sleeping (2008)

Dozed off on top of a coin-slot toy machine outside the Cheers Supermarket store. Sometimes you will find him outside on top of the Cheers Supermarket store ice-cream storage. He just loves the area around Cheers Supermarket. He's sleeping. Either too much snacks or its too late. I caught him sleeping around 8pm. Hey its too early to sleep!!!

Cat Yawn (2008)

This shot was taken below my block. VERY Friendly and FLUFFY! Once again, another lazy sunny afternoon. Caught him yawning. Made me want to sleep too. Silly kitty...

Cat Watch (2008)

Street cat stalker! He usually roams around another end of the block. But this day, he has decided to take a stroll elsewhere. He stopped and watched cautiously behind the little tree observing my every move as I position myself to take a shot.
After taking a shot, it just stood there. I played with him for a while and I had to go. Can't remember where I was heading to. But I do remember he felt pretty fluffy...

Cat Relaxed (2008)

White street cat. Again in an all-time-ready must take pose. This time resting on a discarded chair in the void deck. Observing its surrounding from a knee-high perspective.

Cat Relaxed (2008)

This cat looked bored. Not all cats knows how to self-entertain. Nevertheless it was fun to capture its expression. Very tame and pretty fluffy when I touched him...

Cat Relaxed (2008)

This white street cat loves sleeping. He also likes to wait near the lift in order to get in together with the people. When the lift opens, he will then decide which level he wants to get out. Once out of the lift, he will start surveying the area.
Very gentle cat and well-known for his unique behaviour.

Cat Watch (2008)

Street cat keeping watch behind my car. Observing its surrounding in a lazy afternoon. That spot is his favourite observatory location. You'll always find him there.
A very handsome pose.

Cat Relaxed (2008)

Sun bathing in a lazy afternoon. This street cat gave me a cheeky pose.
